If you are a techie person, Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is probably one of your favourite annual events. As a global stage of innovation, CES gathers manufacturers, developers and suppliers from around the world to showcase their latest products.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the physical show of CES 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada was attended by around 44,000 people only, however, the total number of attendees didn’t drop too much as around 40,000 attendees joined the show digitally. Also, the pandemic seems unable to halt innovation as there were many new products coming out this year. Let’s take a look of some of the most outstanding tech gears in the show.

1.ASUS ZenBook 17 Fold OLED

Foldable device is a pretty new type of electronics product. After the first foldable phone by Samsung hit the market in 2019, Lenovo carried that idea to laptop by launching ThinkPad X1 Fold in late 2020. It brought excitement to the market but X1 Fold actually had much room to improve, like price, battery life and performance. To this new laptop market, the launch of ZenBook 17 Fold OLED as announced in CES 2022 drew quite a lot of attention.

This futuristic laptop is basically a 17.3-inch OLED touchscreen that can be folded in half. The folded ZenBook consists of an upper half 12.5-inch screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio, and a bottom half virtual keyboard. Users can also put an ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard with built-in touchpad on the lower half of the Fold to make it like a traditional laptop.

2.AnkerWork B600

This video bar is definitely a pandemic-friendly tech for many who are working from home, especially those who need to do a lot of video conferences. As an “all-in-one” device equipped with a camera, dual speaker, four-microphone array and light, the AnkerWork B600 is a good way to enhance efficiency and communication for remote working.

3.Air Pix

Looking like a drone, this self-flying camera is going to re-define photography. Launched by AirSelfie, the Air Pix is a pocket-sized, ultra-light (52g) aerial camera that can fly autonomously while taking HD selfie photos and video. The Auto-Fly and 360° modes allow users to fully focus on their activities and let the Air Pix to fly, take pictures and return back all by itself. The most outstanding feature is the App-Free Gesture Control mode, which allows users to pilot and control the device with simple hand gestures, no smartphone connection is needed.

4.Noveto N1personal headphones

Much can be said about all the new true wireless earphones announced in CES 2022, like the lower-price ANC earbuds Jabra Elite 4 Active, the bone-conduction headphones Shokz OpenRun Pro or the long battery life (10 hours) JBL Live Pro 2, but none of them is more innovative than the Noveto N1 personal headphones. Strictly speaking, this device is not headphones, as all you have is a soundbar sitting before you, like a traditional desktop speaker.

You may wonder how sound is transmitted to your ears without using any earpieces. The answer is smart beaming and facial recognition. The Noveto N1 works by pushing acoustic waves into the air and forming “sound pockets” just outside your ears. Facial recognition technology is used to track the position of your ears so that the two sound pockets will follow your head movement. In this way, Noveto N1 is able to keep the audio personal to you, and people around you will only hear as low as 10% of what you hear.

5.Self-driving tractor

This amazing invention was presented by John Deere, an American farm equipment manufacturer. As a fully autonomous tractor, it has six stereo cameras, multitudes of sensors, 360° obstacle detection and machine learning capabilities. Famers can control the tractor and monitor the stats in real-time through a mobile phone, and it only requires attendance when it comes to refuelling and maintenance.
